New Year's Resolution ...

With the new year, many people have goals they want to reach by the end of that same year. Yes, I have the same lose the baby weight finally, get more organized, be a better mom/wife. I always have those goals in mind and I try to achieve them daily.

But I've added a new one ... something different than before. One of my resolutions is to become a better sewer/creator. And in doing so, my goal is to sew new things ... things that intimidate me!

I did start a little bit at the end of 2010 ... I made scarves and the beary cute infant caps. Those were fun to make ... and I hope to get a sale on those sometime!

Now into the new year, I've already began to achieve this goal! 1st, I made my Doll Baby a pair of pants! I'd had them cut out for MONTHS ... yes MONTHS. I was always too afraid to try sewing them together. But then the other day I had some time and just decided to go for it! They turned out pretty cute. Don't you think?

The next prize I had my eye on was a ruffled bolero jacket. We were going to a baby shower and I wanted Aitana to look just as cute as could be and I was itching to make this jacket. After almost 2 full days, a lot of frustration, many many re-do's and a much hated battle with ruffling (yes, I loathe ruffling), I finally finished. And with the help of some great fans, friends and family, I decided to make it reversible instead of closing it up and using it only one way! Here it is ... what do you think?
I just love it! I'll post the whole outfit in another post.
Next up on my resolution list is an adult skirt for my teenage goddaughter. This will be fun!
